Events in Berlin, from August 1st

Too Damn Hot! The Art, not the Weather!

This weekend will be hot... extremely hot!

The best thing might be to go somewhere with lots of water, or alternatively, find an air conditioner.

Regarding the first option:

  • The municipal pools are mostly open, but it is mandatory to coordinate in advance and arrive at a relevant time window.
  • If you are looking for lakes, my recommendation - stay away from the crowds as much as possible.  By that, I recommend avoiding Wansee, Weissensee or Schlachtensee (which was amazingly mentioned by the CNN this week as "one of the 20 best beaches in the world", WTF). Where should you do then? The banks of the Havel , the Müggelsee and the Dahme  or of course to drive to Brandenburg, if you have a car. (And I'm not responsible if millions of readers of this column say right there!):

For those who are still looking for some activity, Wiesenburg in Wedding has a festival at the weekend, with concerts for young and old, with open ateliers and crafr activities
Wiesenstrasse 55, 13357 Berlin

Food and markets

The food markets are returning. Potsdamer Platz has street food trucks during the weekdays, and the Kulturbrauerei is hosting a food and wine festival at weekend, culminating in the traditional Sunday Street Food Market

Another outdoor event for the weekend is the Green Market , in Modersohnstraße 49a 10245 Berlin (Friedrichshain), on Sat and Sun. There is admission fee to the vegan lifestyle market .

Post Holiday

The summer holiday is almost over, and in September, the activities of Hashomer Hatzair will be returning. I will hopefully be here to tell you all about it.
