Weekend Events for the Whole Family in Berlin, March 2 - 4



Berlin Graphic Days

The graphic design festival at the weekend includes workshops, demonstrations, products to purchase and much more - from all realms of graphic design: street art, graphic literature, posters and more.

  • Sport: 
    • It's a bit cold outside, good time to warm up with the Ice Speedway motorcycle race. Throughout the weekend in Wilmersdorf's ice arena


    • On Sunday you can participate in a fun run through the Britzer Garten


  • Museums and Casltes
    • Every Saturday: workshops for children (from 2:30 onwards) at the Museum of Technology

  • Music: 
    • Every Saturday , 12:00, the "Mighty Wurlitzer" in the Musical Instruments Museum
    • Trampoline Disco, for children aged 8 and up, in the Sprungraum in Tempelhof (Malteserstraße 139-142 12277 Berlin), Saturday, 8pm 


  • Food and Markets: 
    • Flea and designer market in Griessmuehle (Neukölln), Friday from 4pm
    • Not for kids, but worth mentioning: The Craft Spirits Festival is dedicated to small distilleries, especially local ones. Sat/Sun in the Heeresbäckerei  






Jewish Traditions: Purim in Berlin

Time to get the costumes, the rattles and the sweets out. Well, business as usual in Berlin, but still, Purim Eve is on February 28th . All synagogues will offer a party, for example: 

  • The Bubales will appear in the Fraenfelufer Synagogue with the Haggadah on Wednesday, 5 pm 



  • Sukkath Schalom (Reform, Charlottenburg, Herbartstr. 26, 14057 Berlin, near S Messe Nord): Purim Party for children, with Hamantaschen, Costumes and much more. 
  • Megilah Reading with Hamantaschen also at Shiloh on Torstr. 
  • The Oranienburger Str Synagogue (Oranienburger Str. 28) , Wed at 7pm and Thu at 10am 




  • The main event for adults will take place on Saturday Night, the Karneval de Purim at Ritter Butzke, this year with Dana International

Weekend Events for the Whole Family in Berlin, February 23 - 25th





Events at the weekend... 



  • Museums and Casltes
    • Every Saturday: workshops for children (from 2:30 onwards) at the Museum of Technology
    • A guided tour in the Charlottenburg Castle for the whole family, Sunday 3 pm 

  • Music: 
    • Every Saturday , 12:00, the "Mighty Wurlitzer" in the Musical Instruments Museum
    • Peer Gynt for children, at the Philharmonie on Saturday, 3:30 
    • Musical workshop for children at Music Home (Prenzlauer Berg), on Saturday


  • Food and Markets: 
    • The gourmet food festival  Eat! Berlin  will open this weekend. Most of the events are quite expensive, as one can expect from gourmet restaurants, a few are more affordable, for example a cheese festival in the Arminius Markthalle in Moabit, on Saturday and Sunday. 


    • Flea Market, with good music, food from Africa and the African Diaspora and much more, in YAAM on Sunday

Weekend Events for the Whole Family in Berlin, February 16 - 18th


Berlinale

The Berlin Film Festival opens this week, which ensures a week full of exciting events , on and off the Red Carpet. There are literal red carpets where you can stalk your favourite celebrity, but there are also tickets available, if you're very patient and compromising. Sale starts every day at 10 am and tickets for really desirable movies end quickly. 


There are also some interesting events around the Berlinale. On Sunday, February 18th, there will be a Shopping-Sunday, from 1 to 6 pm. 

Another event - throughout the festival, is the Bite Club, a Street Food Market, which is open between February 15th and 25th in Potsdamer Platz

  • Museums and Casltes
    • Every Saturday: workshops for children in the Bauhaus Archive (from 11:00) 
    • And also - workshops for children (from 2:30 onwards) at the Museum of Technology
    • Guided tour in the Marmorpalais with the "Castle Dragon", Sun, 2:30 

  • Music: 
    • Knight Parceval, a children opera, in the Philharmonie, on Saturday and Sunday
    • Every Saturday , 12:00, the "Mighty Wurlitzer" in the Musical Instruments Museum


  • Food and Markets: 
    • Well, if you have been paying attention - there is a street food market around the Berlinale, from February 15th through the 25th
    • And on Sunday, there is a special Breakfast Market in Markthalle IX 





Jewish Traditions: Purim

Purim is on February 28th, but fusioning with the Carnival, you can start partying at this weekend. 

The Jewish puppet theatre, the Bubales, will perform with Die Schlaue Esther on Sunday (at 3 pm) in Chabad House East (Karl Liebknecht 34) . Registration with nz@chabadberlin.de
