The Long NIght of the Sciences
Scientific institutions all over Berlin will open their doors on the night between Saturday and Sunday and will show the public all kinds of fun and interesting things, as part of the "Long Night" . Among the activities:
- The Botanical Gardens will offer children activities around the Mexican plants exhibition, featuring a "Mexican Fiesta"
- Robotics, experiments etc. in many places, including a plethora of activities in Adlershof
- Medical oriented activities, including a first aid course for children, at the Charite
- English literature for children (in English) at the HU , with the somewhat sad title "Goodbye UK"
Furthermore
- Funfairs and Street Parties:
- The "German-French Funfair", also calling itself "Volksfest Sommer", in the Zentraler Festplatz. The fair features 60 different attractions including many more rides than your average Berlin fest, more like a small amusement park. The funfair is open daily, from 3 pm, for free (the rides cost money, of course). Wednesday is half-priced day and there are fireworks on Saturday. Until July 16th. Transport: Bus X21 or M21 from the U7 in Jacob-Kaiser-Platz
