Weekend Events for the Whole Family in Berlin, August 10th - 12th

Funfairs and Street Parties 


  • The FEZ is turning into "Circus on the Beach" for the rest of this summer's weekends: with circus activities, beach activities and lots of fun (admission fees apply) 





  • Alexanderplatz hosts, every day, the street theatre festival Berlin Lacht! - Acrobatics, clowns and more - for free , daily until August 12th 
  • Another festival that will take place daily until August 19th is the German-American-Funfair (Deutsch-Amerikanisches Volksfest). The location is a bit off the city centre, to say the least: in Marienpark, which is about 15 minutes walk from either S Attilastr or U Alt Mariendorf. There is an admission fee, but it is in fact converted into chips for rides.

  • An event for children on Sunday in the SEZ, this weird looking building in the corner of Landsberger and Danziger (details)

  • The Hanfparade is dedicated to legalisation of cannabis, on Saturday, from Alexanderplatz




  • Museums and Casltes
    • Every Saturday: workshops for children (from 2:30 onwards) at the Museum of Technology
    • Guided tour for families at the Natural History Museum, Sun from 11:00 
    • Greek in Berlin? Kalimera! On Sunday: A Greek breakfast, followed by a Greek feast, in the Museum for European Cultures, in Dahlem 
    • And in the other end of Berlin, also on Sunday: the Sultan's Festival, in the Gardens of the World (info

  • Sport: The European Light Athletics Championship is taking place in Berlin right now, and there is also a Fan Zone in the Memorial Church in Breitscheidplatz. At the same time, some people will really push their limit, with the 100 Miles Run around the Berlin Wall Way, on Saturday. 

  • Music: 
    • Every Saturday , 12:00, the "Mighty Wurlitzer" in the Musical Instruments Museum

  • Food and Markets: 
    • Flea markets and a street food market in the Kulturbrauerei 
    • It is a shopping Sunday in the big shopping centre, with shops open between 1 and 6 pm 
    • Sunday: Kreuzborg Flowmarkt in the Prinzessinnengärten (U8: Moritzplatz) 
    • Sat + Sun Latin American feast in Osthafen
